The processing factory of the Kola Iron and Steel Company is assembling a new spiral, double-section classifier.

The classifier is used to divide ore in water according to size and density. The crushed ore is transferred to the classifier tank from the ball mill.

The advantage of the new classifier is that its tank is divided into two sections. Now each spiral of the classifier is working in closed cycle with a separate ball mill.

This will increase output and decrease maintenance costs.

The Kola processing factory operates 5 spiral classifiers. 3 have already been replaced with newer models. Now the fourth classifier is being replaced. The assembly of the fifth classifier is scheduled for H1 2019. (Ukrainian metal)
