The construction of the Tashkent Iron and Steel Works is scheduled to be finished in December 2019.

At present metal structures are being assembled at the site.

The first products are expected to be produced in spring 2020.

The turnkey contract for the construction of the works valued at 287 million euro was concluded with the Russian contractor – the Metprom Group of Companies in May 2017.

The company will be able to produce 500 thousand tons of cold-rolled metal with the thickness of 0.3 to 1.2 mm. All this metal will then be subject to hot-dip galvanizing, with 300 thousand tons getting 0.3 to 0.7 mm of polymer coating.

If needed the capacity of the works could be increased to 750 thousand tons of cold-rolled metal, with another hot-dip galvanizing line to be installed. (Ukrainian metal)
