Employees of the Novovolynskaya Mine No. 9 have been striking for 10 days already because of the wage debts.

Now they have made a strike near the Volynugol administration premises demanding the CEO to be fired.

“In addition to the clearing of the salary debts they also insist on firing the acting CEO of the state enterprise Volynugol Andrei Pilipyuk. The Buzhanskaya mine employees could soon join them, as the salary debt there amounts to 50% for July”, said Mikhail Volynets, the chairman of the Independent Miners Union of Ukraine.

The warehouse of the enterprise has accumulated 7.5 thousand tons of coal, which it is impossible to sell or take somewhere. The temperature at the warehouse is rising, and the coal could self ignite. (Ukrainian metal)
