In January-June the works previously known as Amurmetal and controlled by Torex-Khabarovsk LLC produced 264 thousand tons of rolled metal.
The company is developing – it invests in modernization, prepares the manufacture of a new rebars standard and has concluded an agreement with Posco Daewoo on the supply of 300 thousand tons of billets.
Since August the government has decreased the number of ports that can export metal scrap. This will load the works even more and make it hire several hundreds of new employees.
The company intends to increase capacity to 5 million tons of metal per year. The first stage of the project will see the modernization of the rolling mill and increase of its capacity to 700 thousand tons. During the second stage a mini-blast furnace will be assembled to produce liquid pig iron. (Ukrainian metal)
