Some of the goals of the ChTPZ Group are to decrease the prime cost of the products, increase the share on the market of seamless pipes and decrease the dependence on other metal companies’ pipe billets.
“We don’t see any serious growth of demand for large diameter pipes on the domestic market because of the wrap up of several infrastructure projects. At the same time the demand from the energy and construction sectors is stable. The stable demand for seamless pipes on behalf of fuel and power and construction companies provides for the growth of consumption. We intend to increase our share on the market of seamless pipes and are reviewing several ways to do this”, the group CEO Boris Kovalenkov said.
“We also want to decrease our dependence on pipe billets. Now we consume some 1.4 million tons of them, including 1 million tons of our own billets and 0.4 million tons of those supplied by Evraz NTMK, UGMK, Ural Stal and OEMK. We intend to increase our own manufacture and decrease pipes prime cost”, he added. (Ukrainian metal)
