The Severnaya mine in the city of Makeevka will be shut down, as water has not been pumped out of it since last August. Some miners will be fired, while the rest hope to be employed at the yet unflooded mines.

According to the comments in social networks, mines with large coal deposits have been shut down, without even removing machinery from there.

The mines that still employ agree to pay 10-15 thousand rubles (around 3.4-6.5 thousand UAH).

At present the once state enterprise Makeevugol, which used to have 10 enterprises, extracts coal only at 5 mines. (Ukrainian metal)
