In September the Aluminum Works in the city of Volgograd will resume primary aluminum manufacture, suspended 5 years ago.

Autumn will also see the commissioning of the baked anode factory.

The cost of each project is some 8 billion rubles.

The electrolysis manufacture at the works was suspended in August 2013 by Rusal because of the drop of world aluminum prices.

The primary aluminum capacities will reach 55-60 thousand tons per year, baked anodes – 104 thousand tons, and aluminum powder and paste – 10 thousand tons. (Ukrainian metal)
