The first stage of the Ozernovsky GMK mining and metallurgic plant was launched on the Kamchatka Peninsula’s gold deposit on June 25, the regional government said in a statement.
“This is the largest unit developed on Kamchatka and one of the most difficult from the point of view of logistics, weather conditions, characteristics arising from needs of the national defense. And yet, it has started to work,” head of the region Vladimir Ilyukhin said during the launch.
The production plan of the plant for 2018 is about 1 ton of gold. The launch of the second stage of the gold-extracting facility is scheduled for the end of 2019. (Prime/Ukrainian metal)
