Metal products for the construction of stadiums for the World Cup were supplied by Severstal, Mechel, Evraz, Metalloinvest, TMK, OMK, NLMK and MMK.
According to the Russian Steel Association, the 8 major companies supplied 200 thousand tons of rolled metal.
NLMK accounted for almost 25% of all the deliveries (49140 tons). The company metal was used on the construction of 10 stadiums. The group was able to earn some 1.96 billion rubles on the contracts (roughly 40 thousand rubles per ton).
Severstal and Evraz shared the second position, by supplying 20% of metal (40 thousand tons) each. Half of Severstal metal was used to construct the Zenit Arena in St. Petersburg. (Ukrainian metal)
