President Petro Poroshenko has signed a decree to increase the scrap export duty to 42 euros per ton and prolong it for a year, until September 2019.

On May 17 the Verkhovna Rada adopted the decree No. 8226 “On amendments to some decrees of Ukraine on the decrease of ferrous scrap on domestic market”.

In July 2015 in order to eliminate the shortage of scrap on the domestic market and provide defense industry and infrastructure construction with scrap the Parliament adopted a decree on temporary increase of scrap export duty from 10 euros per ton to 30 euros. (Ukrainian metal)
