In January-May Ukraine mined 13.896 million tons of coal, down by 12% YoY.
According to the Ministry of energy and coal industry, coking coal output dropped by 7.5%, to 2.698 million tons, and that of power-generating coal by 13.1%, to 11.198 million tons.
In May Ukraine mined 2.66 million tons of coal, down by 2.3% YoY.
Ministry-managed enterprises mined 1.852 million tons of coal in 5 months, down by 7.6%, including 216.9 thousand tons of coking coal, down by 45.7%, and 1.636 million tons of power-generating coal, up by 1.9%.
Donetsk region mines yielded 4.9 million tons of coal, down by 10.1% YoY, Lugansk – 239.3 thousand tons, down by 83.8%, Dniepropetrovsk – 8.02 million tons, down by 2.3%, Lviv – 667.9 thousand tons, up by 15.7%, and Volyn region – 50.6 thousand tons, up by 5.2%. (Ukrainian metal)
