Since the start of the year Amur region has mined over 1.2 million tons of power-generating coal, up by 5% YoY.

The coal is mined at 2 deposits – the Raychikhinskoye and Yerkovetskoye.

The coal industry employs over 1600 locals. With the increase of the Yerkovetsky open-pit capacity their number could grow.

The oldest pit in the region – the Northwestern, commissioned in 1932 and developing Raychikhinskoye deposits – is also increasing capacities and output. In January-April it mined 63 thousand tons more coal than in the corresponding 4 months of 2017. (Ukrainian metal)
