The capacities to produce galvanized and coated metal in Russia continue increasing.
Soon such a line with a capacity of 400 thousand tons per year will be commissioned at Severstal. The Leningrad and Orel regions now posses polymer-coating lines with the capacity of 40 thousand tons per year.
According to a survey, some 34% of market players expect an overproduction of sheet steel with coating this summer because of the low demand.
At the same time 31% believe that the consumption of galvanized and coated metal during the high construction season will be considerable.
18% think that the market will be reorganized. Some major players because of the high expenses will have to decrease output, giving way to the largest players.
Finally 17% voted for the increase of exports, resulting in the coated metal surplus being sold abroad. (Ukrainian metal)
