In 2017 Russia consumed 4.3 million tons of rolled metal with coating.
According to Severstal Russian Steel flat rolled metal sales director Kirill Kiryushkin, imports from Kazakhstan grew, but fell from China and Ukraine.
This year a slight increase in consumption of galvanized and coated steel is expected – by 2%.
Last year Severstal was able to increase output and sales of coated metal by 13%, to 1 million tons. In particular, the manufacture of galvanized steel increased by 20%. Deliveries to the domestic market accounted for 50% of the total volume.
In 2018 the group intends to get back the share of 16% on the galvanized rolled metal market, while increasing its share on the coated metal market to 21%. (Ukrainian metal)
