In January Ukraine exported 654.597 thousand tons of carbon steel semi-finished products, up by 11% YoY, valued at $289.516 million, up by 38.5%.
According to the State Fiscal Service, Italy (30.37%), Turkey (24.71%) and Egypt (15.08%) were the main customers.
Imports reached 1.997 thousand tons, up 6.2-fold YoY, valued at $1.151 million, up 7-fold. The only suppliers were Russia (99.83%) and Poland (0.17%).
In 2017 Ukraine decreased exports of semi-finished products by 18.8% YoY, to 6.291 million tons, valued at $2.541 billion, up by 14.9% YoY. Italy (30.61%), Turkey (17.02%) and Egypt (16.28%) were the main customers.
Imports last year grew by 20.1% YoY, to 22.038 thousand tons, valued at $12.091 million, up by 85.4%. The main suppliers were Russia (95.48%), Kazakhstan (4.03%) and Bulgaria (0.25%). (Ukrainian metal)
