Aktogay Mining and Processing Works will be expanded.
In October the works has reached its project capacity at the sulfide enrichment factory, and the board of directors decided to construct another factory, which would double sulfide ore processing from 25 to 50 million tons per year.
The expansion is the low-risk project.
Investments are expected to reach $1.2 billion, with $200 million invested in 2018. All the rest will be spent in 2019-2021.
Manufacture at the new factory is expected to start in the second half of 2021. Annual copper output at Aktogay will increase by 80 thousand tons, to 170 thousand tons from 2022 till 2027. (Ukrainian metal)
