Ukrmetallurgprom forecasts that in January 2018 Ukraine will produce 2 million tons of steel, 1.9 million tons of pig iron and 1.8 million tons of rolled metal.
According to updated data, in November Ukraine produced 1.87 million tons of steel, 1.83 million tons of pig iron and 1.6 million tons of rolled metal.
A slight decrease of output as to October has to do with the scheduled and ongoing repairs, as well as the decrease in prices on world markets.
As of December 12, 19 out of 28 blast furnaces (68%), 8 out 9 of open-hearth furnaces (89%), 15 out of 21 converters (71%), 7 out of 15 electric arc furnaces (47%) and all of 14 continuous cast machines were in operation. (Ukrainian metal)
