In January-October DTEK Energo purchased 595 thousand tons of coal from the state mines of the Lviv-Volyn basin, up by 9.8% YoY.

According to the company press-service, in October purchases increased by 42% YoY, to 74 thousand tons.

The increase has to do with the growth of loading of thermal power plants working on Ukrainian gas coal.

Moreover the demand for gas coal in autumn increased due to the switching of anthracite blocks of TPPs to gas coal. When 2 blocks of Pridneprovskaya TPP have been switched to gas coal from anthracite, the demand for gas coal has increased by 80 thousand tons per month. (Ukrainian metal)
