Nordgold has announced plans to start a new project in 2022 – gold extraction at the Uryakh deposits in Irkutsk region.
As of 2017 the deposits reserves are estimated at 2.1 million ounces with gold content of 3.4 g per ton for open-pit mining and 2-3 million ounces for underground mining.
License for gold mining at the Uryakh is owned by Berezitovy mine LLC, a local enterprise of Nordgold. The license is valid till November 2032. (Ukrainian metal)
