Uralelectromed has purchased the fifth Ferrit diesel locomotive (the Czech Republic) valued at 14 million rubles. The machine will be used to transport cargo between the main industrial shops.

“Four similar machines have been in use at our enterprise for the past two years and have proven their efficiency. With the delivery of the fifth machine our locomotive fleet for narrow gauge will be complete”, the railroad shop director Vadim Duvanov said.

The diesel locomotives have been specially designed for UEM’s narrow gauge of 750 mm.

New diesel locomotives transport up to 200 tons of cargo, up by 20% form the standard electrical locomotives. (Ukrainian metal)
