The Kyshtym Copper Electrolytic Plant (Kyshtym, Chelyabinsk region, a subsidiary of the Russian Copper Company) has released its production results for the first 9 months of 2017.

During that time, the plant produced over 97,128 tons of cathodes, up by 8.6% YoY. Copper rod production increased by 6.1%, to 72,784 tons, silver by 2.3% and gold by 30% in comparison with the first 9 months of 2016.

“We’re planning to produce 128,000 tons of copper cathodes by the end of 2017 – 5% more than in 2016, when the plant beat its previous record. In addition to high demand for the plant’s products, this increase has been driven by RCC’s balanced commodity program, thanks to which Karabashmed has fully met our blister copper requirements since 2016. The Kyshtym Copper Electrolytic Plant had previously used secondary raw materials – up to 6,000 tons of copper scrap per month. In a highly competitive environment, there was no guarantee that the secondary raw materials would be delivered on time and in sufficient quantity. The balanced commodity program allows us to plan production efficiently and boost output volumes,” said Andrey Kudryavtsev, CEO of the Kyshtym Copper Electrolytic Plant. (MetalInfo/Ukrainian metal)
