The coalmine, where three local residents died, was closed a year ago, press service of the office of the government’s authorized representative in Batken region reported.

Three people died of carbon monoxide poisoning in Garym area of Samarkandek rural administration. Rescuers raised their bodies from a depth of 85-92 meters.

According to the representative office, the head of Batken region ordered to create a commission to suppress illegal activities and prevent accidents.

The commission examined the mines in Sary-Tash and Garym areas of Samarkandek rural administration. 11 people illegally mining coal were detected.

As a result, six of them were sentenced to 2 years probation and a fine of 3,000 soms each. (24.kg/Ukrainian metal)
