Ukraine will not be able to import coal from Poland in this heating season, as the country is in need of coal imports itself.

According to the energy programs director at the Center for world economy and international relations of the National academy of sciences of Ukraine Valentin Zemlyansky, recently Poland has started importing coal from USA, at the same time increasing imports from Russia.

“In H1 Poland doubled coal imports from Russia. Polish experts believe that the reason is the thinning of deposits”, he said. “We should forget about the Polish coal – this heating season they themselves have to import some 4 million tons. Just like Ukraine”. (Ukrainian metal)
