Gold production on Russia’s Chukotka peninsula decreased by 12% YoY, to 17.178 tons in January-August, the regional government said in a statement.

Alluvial gold output grew by 17%, to 1,822 kilograms.

Silver production in the area fell by 20%, to 87.8 tons in the period.

Chukotka Mining and Geological Company, a unit of Kinross Gold, produced 6,417 kilograms of gold and 74.8 tons of silver at its Kupol deposit.

Production of Severnoye Zoloto, Kinross Gold’s affiliate that develops the Dvoinoye deposit, amounted to 5 tons of ore gold and 7.96 tons of silver.

Output of gold concentrate at the Maiskoye deposit, developed by Polymetal’s unit, amounted to 2,413 kilograms. (Prime/Ukrainian metal)
