In January-August Chukotka Autonomous District yielded 17.1 tons of gold, down by 12% YoY.

In particular, ore gold totaled 15.3 tons, down by 15% YoY, and 1.8 tons – alluvial gold, up by 17% YoY.

Silver output reached 87.8 tons, down by 20% YoY.

Ore gold output decline is connected with the thinning of reserves at the Kupol and Dvoynoye deposits. They account for over a half of all gold mined in Chukotka.

In January-August 2016 the region yielded 19.5 tons of gold, including 18 tons of ore and 1.5 tons of alluvial gold. Silver output totaled 109.7 tons. (Ukrainian metal)
