In January-June Zaporizhstal consumed 85 million cubic meters of gas, down by 2.5% YoY. This has been achieved thanks to manufacture efficiency increase and expenses decrease.
“We used to consume 85 million cubic meters per month, now that’s the half a year results. But we are still working on decreasing gas consumption”, the company CEO Rostislav Shurma said.
According to him the main gas-saving strategy is switching sintering machines No. 2-6 from natural gas to coke-blast furnace and natural-blast furnace mixture. (Ukrainian metal)
