In May railroad transportation of ferrous metals decreased by 3.3% YoY, to 5.9 million tons.

From the beginning of the year the railroad transported 29.8 million tons of ferrous metals, down by 0.4% YoY.

Ferrous metals exports to Italy decreased by 30%, to Spain by 75% and to Egypt by 60%. At the same time, deliveries to Taiwan grew 5-fold.

Experts believe that because of the low activity of the construction industry in Russia and the high competition on export markets, ferrous metal railroad transportation will further decrease. (Ukrainian metal)
