The largest Egyptian metal company Ezz Steel plans to increase rebars output to its maximum of 4.6 million tons per year, if the government extends antidumping duties on the import of rebars from Ukraine, China and Turkey, imposed in early June.
The duties of 10-27% have been imposed for 4 months.
Last year Egypt consumed 8.7 million tons of bars, of which 1.7 million tons were imported. (Ukrainian metal)
