In January-May Ukraine decreased steel output by 18% YoY, to 8.708 million tons.
According to Ukrmetallurgprom, rolled metal output dropped by 20% YoY, to 7.458 million tons, that of pig iron – by 22%, to 7.921 million tons.
Pipe output went up by 24%, to 409 thousand tons, while that of coke decreased by 25%, to 4.179 million tons, all YoY.
In 2016 Ukraine produced 24.2 million tons of steel, 23.6 million tons of pig iron and 21.4 million tons of rolled metal, up by 6%, 8% and 6% YoY respectively.
Pipe output dropped by 1%, to 849 thousand tons, that of coke increased by 10%, to 12.723 million tons. (Ukrainian metal)
