In May Zaporizhstal produced 325.2 thousand tons of steel, down by 11.2% YoY.
According to the company statement, pig iron output dropped by 17.1%, to 285.5 thousand tons, that of rolled metal – by 12.3%, to 272 thousand tons.
The decrease of output is the result of the shut down of the blast furnace No. 3 in November 2016 for a massive overhaul.
In January-May the works produced 1393.6 thousand tons of pig iron, 1586.8 thousand tons of steel and 1327.8 thousand tons of rolled metal, all down by 8.5%, 3.3% and 8.4% YoY respectively. (Ukrainian metal)
