In January-April major companies – Nikopol and Zaporozhye Ferro Alloys Works – increased ferroalloys output by 4.9% YoY, to 334.54 thousand tons.

According to the Association of Ukrainian Ferroalloy Producers, silicomanganese output went up by 1.2%, to 261.49 thousand tons, and of ferromanganese – by 51.7%, to 39.45 thousand tons.

Ferrosilicon production dropped by 5.6%, to 30.57 thousand tons, but of metallic manganese – increased by 37.7%, to 3.03 thousand tons.

NZF also produced 0.23 thousand tons of other ferroalloys.

Stakhanov Ferroalloy Plant is still idle because of the military activity in the region.

Ordjonikidze and Marganets Mining and Processing Works produced 383.19 thousand tons of manganese concentrate, up 2.8-fold YoY. MGOK produced 161.79 thousand tons of concentrate, up by 58.5% YoY, OGOK – 221.4 thousand tons, up 6.1-fold. OGOK also produced 46.02 thousand tons of manganese sinter (not produced in January-April 2016).

In 2016 NZF and ZZF increased output by 16% YoY, to 1028.3 thousand tons: silicomanganese – by 16.7%, to 814.97 thousand tons, and ferromanganese – by 19.1%, to 104.47 thousand tons. Ferrosilicon manufacture went up by 12.4%, to 101.43 thousand tons, of metallic manganese – dropped by 26.5%, to 7.43 thousand tons.

Manganese concentrate last year reached 1.25 million tons, up by 3.6% YoY, with MGOK output down by 12.3%, to 511.97 thousand tons, and OGOK output up by 18.5%, to 738.03 thousand tons. OGOK also produced 51.4 thousand tons of manganese sinter, up from 273.9 thousand tons in 2015. (Ukrainian metal)
