For the last year the Mariupol metal companies underreceived 6 million tons of raw materials.
“That’s some 1 million tons of underproduced pig iron and 1 million tons of pig iron, produced with uncompetitive cost price due to time consuming supplies”, Mariupol Ilyich Iron and Steel Works CEO Yuri Zinchenko wrote on his Facebook page.
Half a year ago Ukrzaliznytsia reported on 23 cargo trains towards Mariupol. But actually railroad saw only 16-17 trains a day.
Zinchenko added, that now Ukrzaliznytsia could not deliver to Berdyansk, from where iron ore raw materials used to be shipped to Mariupol.
On May 13 Mariupol Ilyich had to shut one of the blast furnaces because of the inability to deliver coke. (Ukrainian metal)
