Miners of Krivoy Rog Iron Ore Industrial Complex, ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih and Evraz Sukhaya Balka are still striking, demanding the increase of salary.
According to the chairman of the Independent Miners Union of Ukraine Mikhail Volynets, miners’ wives together with children and other relatives have blocked railroad and stopped sales.
At AMKR over 300 miners have been striking underground without food and water for a day and a half.
Evraz promised to increase salary by 12% from May 1, but the miners demand at least 20% and then to 30% from August. They remain underground at the depth of 1343 m. (Ukrainian metal)
