In January-March Kaz Minerals produced 52.1 thousand tons of copper, up by 16% QoQ and by 130% YoY.

The group mined 16.9 million tons of ore, up by 27% QoQ and by 59% YoY, the average copper content in the ore was 0.8%.

Zinc concentrate output decreased from 19.2 thousand tons in Q4 2016 to 15.5 thousand tons because of the temporary decrease of zinc contents in ore yielded by Artemievsk mine.

Gold output was stable: 42.5 thousand ounces against 42 thousand ounces in Q4 2016, thanks to the increase at Bozshakol by 2 thousand ounces.

Silver output totaled 757 thousand ounces, down by 23% QoQ, mostly due to the low contents in ore from the eastern region, but up by 7% YoY, thanks to Bozshakol output. (Ukrainian metal)
