The deputy chairman of the Russian government Dmitry Kozak suggested the major industrial groups to supply iron ore to the militants of the so-called Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics.
In particular, Alisher Usmanov’s Metalloinvest and Alexei Mordashov’s Severstal representatives attended the meeting with Kozak.
According to a source, the issue of iron ore deliveries to the militants taken enterprises was discussed. According to another source, the companies agreed to help the terrorists in the nearest time.
Yet another source confirmed the meeting taking place and the participants being suggested “to pay attention to the new sales market”.
A Concorde Capital analyst Alexander Paraschiy believes, that the largest works on the occupied territories (Yenakievo and Makeevka Works) will need around 2.6 million tons of ore per year, while Alchevsk Iron and Steel Works – some 1.6 million tons. (Ukrainian metal)
