Residents of Batken region opposed development of Shambesai gold deposit. The State Committee of Industry, Energy and Subsoil Use tried to tell them about the advantages of the project.
Representatives of Z-Explorer Company held a presentation of Shambesai project with explanation of the proposed technology for development of the field and measures for environmental protection, and said about financial allocations to the local and district budgets and implemented social projects.
Residents fear a sharp increase in the number of Chinese citizens. In response, they were cited the example of Altynken, where only 45 out of 990 workers are the citizens of China, and the rest are the Kyrgyz.
In addition, answering the question of local residents about employment, it was noted that in the coming months all the interested local residents would be invited to training in specialties needed at the mine on the basis of the Inter-Branch Training Center under the State Committee of Industry, Energy and Subsoil Use.
In January, Shambesai gold deposit in Kadamdzhay district of Batken region received full funding and is at the stage of detail engineering.
The financing was received from the Chinese company Tiandi International Mining Co. Limited, owned by Guizhou Geological and Mineral Resources Development Company Limited. Tiandi International Mining Co. Limited acquired 100% of shares from the Australian Manas Holdings (Kyrgyz) Pty Ltd, which is the parent company of Z-Explorer. (24.kg/Ukrainian metal)
