In 2016 DTEK mined 33.2 million tons of coal, or 74.33% of all the coal mined in Ukraine.

According to the Ministry of energy and coal industry, last year Ukraine mined 44.68 million tons of coal, with 5 million tons being coking coal and 39.68 million tons – power-generating coal.

DTEK Pavlogradugol yielded the largest share – 18.6 million tons, DTEK Komsomolets Donbassa – 4.28 million tons, DTEK Sverdlovantrazit – 4.03 million tons, DTEK Rovenkiantrazit – 3.91 million tons, and DTEK Dobropolyeugol – 2.39 million tons. Almost all coal is power-generating coal, thus DTEK share in power-generating coal in 2016 reached 83.6%.

Among the state-run coalmining enterprises are Lvivugol (1.76 million tons in 2016) and Selidovugol (1.45 million tons). (Ukrainian metal)
