ArcelorMittal Temirtau plans to stabilize the situation with the sharp shortage of open cars necessary to transport raw materials and rolled metal within a month.
The company started experiencing railroad car shortages in H2 2016. Kazakhstan used to attract some 12-15 thousand open cars from Russia each month, but now their number dropped to 3-4 thousand.
Because of the lack of cars, in Q4 2016 AMT did not receive 150 thousand tons of raw materials from its own mines. (Ukrainian metal)
