Ukraine consumes 24 million tons of coal, of which 9 million is anthracite group produced from the Ukrainian subsurface in the temporarily occupied territories, and which totals one third of the whole electricity in the country, Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman stated.
He said that public strict monitoring must be introduced, if cases of smuggling were unveiled.
Groysman also noted that companies supplying coal from the occupied territories of Donbass were registered in Ukraine and paid taxes.
According to the Prime Minister, the Energy Headquarters will hold a meeting to consider possible threats to the process of providing Ukrainian citizens with heat in connection with the blocking of coal supplies to Ukraine. (Ukrinform/Ukrainian metal)
