In January Ukrainian mining companies exported 2.542 million tons of iron ore raw materials (IORM) valued at $189.171 million, down by 28.1% but up by 76.3% YoY respectively.

According to the State Fiscal Service, China was the largest importer of IORM (18.74%), followed by Poland (13.39%) and Austria (12.72%).

IORM imports in January totaled 72.299 thousand tons valued at $7.515 million, down by 65.4% and by 8.4% YoY respectively. The only supplier was Russia.

In 2016 Ukrainian mining and processing works exported 39.203 million tons of IORM valued at $1,827 billion, down by 14.2% and by 12.7% YoY respectively. The main importers were China (34.33%), the Czech Republic (10.67%) and Poland (10.67%).

Imports dropped to 1.765 million valued at $76.025 million, down by 21.7% and by 29.2% YoY respectively, with Russia supplying 99.98% of iron ore raw materials. (Ukrainian metal)
