In 2016 Metalloinvest increased iron ore output by 3.1% YoY, to 40.7 million tons. In Q4 2016, the company increased iron ore production1 to 10.3 million tons, up by 4% QoQ.
Annual pellet output reached 25.2 million tons, up by 5.9% YoY, mainly due to the launch of Pellet Plant #3 at MGOK. In Q4 2016, pellet production decreased by 3% QoQ, to 6.3 million tons.
In 2016 Metalloinvest increased HBI/DRI production by 4.8% YoY, to 5.7 million tons, due to higher productivity of DRI units at OEMK, among other factors, which also contributed to the increase of output in Q4 2016 to 1.5 million tons (by 15.5% QoQ).
Metalloinvest increased hot metal output by 20.2% YoY, to 3 million tons, due to the launch of Blast Furnace No. 4 and Pig Iron Casting Machine No. 5 at the end of 2015. In Q4 2016, hot metal production amounted to 0.7 million tons, down by 5.4% QoQ.
In 2016 Metalloinvest increased crude steel production by 3.6% YoY, to 4.7 million tons. In Q4 2016 crude steel production equaled 1.2 million tons, up by 5.7% QoQ. (Metalinfo/Ukrainian metal)
