In 2016 Ukraine exported 39.2 million tons of iron ore raw materials, down by 6.5 million tons YoY.
“Iron ore raw materials exports in December 2016 dropped by 22 thousand tons, to 3223 thousand tons”, the state enterprise Ukrpromvneshexpertisa expert Dmitry Zheltyakov said.
Last year Japan increased imports by 535 thousand tons YoY, Serbia – by 567 thousand tons, Korea – by 431 thousand tons, Slovakia – by 409 thousand tons. On the other hand, exports to China dropped by 7.69 million tons, to Poland – by 600 thousand tons, and to Turkey – by 633 thousand tons.
Export prices in December 2016 increased by 15-20%.
According to the experts, this year following the stabilization of prices in China, slight price fluctuations in Ukraine will be recorded. Local prices should show some growth.
In 2016 Ukraine produced 72.6 million tons of iron ore raw materials, down by 5.1 million tons YoY, with December 2016 results up by 8.5 thousand tons MoM, to 207.4 thousand tons. (Ukrainian metal)
