The existing system of railroad car division under Ukrzaliznytsia negatively affects the Ukrainian economy and has considerable corruption risks, Metallurgprom president Alexander Kalenkov wrote in his letter to the Prime Minister of Ukraine Vladimir Groysman.
“Because of the lack of open wagons in Q4 2016 mining companies undersupplied for export up to 10% of the planned iron ore volumes, which equaled the loss of $50 million in revenues. The revenues not received by Ukrzaliznytsia reach 140 million UAH, or a half of its profit in 2016”, he said. (Ukrainian metal)
