In 2016 Mechel-Service, the metal trading company of Mechel, increased sales by 6% YoY.
In particular, the company sold 1.9 million tons of metal.
The growth was marked in rebars (by 6%), beams (by 24%), strips (by 31%), metal wares (by 5%), stainless steel (by 8%) and shaped sections (by 6%). Pipe sales showed the highest growth – by 45%.
“We were able to reach good results in 2016 thanks to the optimization of logistic chain and opening new warehouses in regions with stable rolled metal consumption. This year we intend to further expand our network and open new offices in several cities”, Mechel-Service CEO Leonid Polyansky said. (Ukrainian metal)
