ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih announced its 2016 production results. The company successfully coped with the set task and achieved record production for the recent years – 7 million tons of steel in 2016. Previously such production level was reached in 2008.
This ambitious goal, that the employees of the company strived to achieve for the whole last year, became reality thanks to the joint efforts of all departments of PJSC “ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih”. Last year was tough for PJSC “ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih” and the entire steelmaking industry, but rich in events in production. In 2016 within the investment program the pulverized coal injection complex for blast furnace No. 9 was commissioned at PJSC “ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih”. LF-CC performance resulted in 5 million tons of steel since the start of the complex, and the construction of the second LF-CC is planned. Mastering of new higher value-added steel grades was in progress that enabled to positively influence the profit of the company. The product mix of the plant was enlarged, and this increased the number of customers. In 2017 the company will continue implementing investment projects enabling to reduce product cost, increase productivity and significantly improve the environment in Kriviy Rih and in the whole region.
Since 2005 ArcelorMittal company has been the biggest foreign investor in Ukraine, the sum of investments reaching $10.4 billion. By 2020 the company will have additionally invested $1.5 billion dollars in modernization of production and new construction at PJSC “ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih”. (AMKR/Ukrainian metal)
