In November Russia imported 31285 tons of stainless steel, down by 3.4% MoM. Despite the decrease this was the second time in the modern history of Russia when the imports exceeded 31 thousand tons.
Flat rolled metal imports in November decreased by 1%, of electric-welded pipes – by 22.6%, of seamless pipes – by 48%. Drop in the flat rolled metal segment was mostly due to the decrease of 600 mm-wide rolled metal imports – by 13.8%, and in the seamless pipes segment – because of casing and compressor pipes of corrosion-resistant steel – 14-fold.
Bar imports, on the other hand, increased by 4%, wire – by 20.8%, pipe fittings – by 9.5% and of primary billet – 7.1-fold.
In January-November Russia increased stainless steel imports by 28.5% YoY, to 275 thousand tons. (Ukrainian metal)
