Chelyabinsk Iron and Steel Works, a part of Mechel, produced the 140-millionth ton of sinter at its sintering factory No. 2.

The manufacturing site comprises 4 sintering machines and produces some 5 million tons of sinter per year. Sintering factory No. 2 was put into operation in 2005.

The investment project cost $150 million. The factory uses the best techniques to produce high-quality raw materials.

The construction of the new sintering factory allowed ChMK to stop producing hot sinter at the factory No. 1, built in 1956. (Ukrainian metal)
