The Ministry of energy and coal industry is working on a state program to develop coalmining, which presupposes the centralized sales of coal.
In particular, the ministry plans to create the National coal company. It will comprise 40 state companies, including 28 state mines. After such a company is created, some 40 objects of the social sphere will be taken from state mines and given to the local authorities. There would also be no need for the mines to unite.
Still, this idea has some opponents, in particular, regional businessmen who control various state coal companies and who are not interested in losing them.
The energy minister Igor Nasalik hasn’t supported the idea yet, as he hasn’t signed the corresponding decree. (Ukrainian metal)
