In January-October Ukraine produced 20.16 million tons of carbon steel, up by 5.5% YoY.
Pig iron production increased by 8.7%, to 19.64 million tons, that of rolled metal – by 6.7%, to 17.87 million tons. Metallurgical coke output went up by 12.3%, to 10.74 million tons, while that of steel pipes dropped by 0.5%, to 704 thousand tons, all YoY.
Steel smelting has been falling for three months in a row. Average daily output in October totaled 62.3 thousand tons, as opposed to 64.7 thousand tons in September. Pig iron daily output dropped to 59.6 thousand tons from 63.9 thousand tons in September.
In 2015 Ukraine produced 20.01 million tons of rolled metal, 22.93 million tons of steel and 21.87 million tons of pig iron, all down by 16%, 16% and 12% YoY respectively. (Ukrainian metal)
