In September Ukrainian companies received 286 thousand tons of scrap, up by 45 thousand tons MoM.

Scrap was not exported in July-September due to the absence of the law on the scrap export duty increase to 30 euro per ton.

In mid-September the decree came into effect, thus probably triggering the start of exports in November.

But, according to the state enterprise Ukrpromvneshexpertisa deputy director Yuri Dobrovolsky the exports won’t be large, as the local price in Ukraine mostly equals export quotations minus duties, port fees, transport fees, etc.

In October scrap supplies to the local market would decrease to 270 thousand tons, but would go up to 290 thousand tons in November, dropping to 250 thousand tons in December. (Ukrainian metal)
